In a few weeks, Yoni Roshko will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah, marking his entry into manhood. But the upcoming celebration doesn't change the problems he's experiencing. Believing himself to be too small and skinny at 13, he ramps up his exercise routine in an effort to stand up to the students at his school who make fun of him. He's also hoping his voice will lower in time for his Bar Mitzvah. To top it all off, his parents are on the point of separating and his autistic older brother, who has lived in an institution for the past several years, will have to return to live at home. Through his personal and family problems, the teen will go through experiences that will shape the man he is about to become.
