  This has been my all-time favorite movie since I first saw it in the theatre as a kid in the mid-1950s The intricately woven plot is suspenseful as the main character navigates his love life (or lack thereof) while being an invalid (temporarily shut-in) with little to do than observe the eccentric behaviors of his neighbors across the courtyard. I found this movie intriguing on so many levels. It greatly appeals to my personality. I have recommended this movie over and over again to family and friends across the years.
