Yawner for myself. My spouse enjoyed it. It’s a story that’s been told a 100 times. Drama.

Not sure what I was expecting. I thought the scene with Dr. Frankenstein demonstrating a partially constructed body catching a ball and looking around/breathing was freaking cool! THAT is what I thought the tone might be as it was a Del Toro film... this played out rather similarly to the 1994 movie with De Niro. The two Frankenstein's telling their stories (The Dr., and the Creature) and it was a little bit of a love story. The most intriguing part was Waltz's character and what his motivation was. Otherwise, you knew the Dr., was going to create the monster. You knew people would see him and want to kill him first rather than realize he's innocent like a child and still learning the world around him. The creature was cooler when he was wearing the tattered hood. When he was in his full creature outfit in the sunlight, I felt like it was a decent piece of prosthetics, but not what I thought of Frankenstein's monster. Not terrifying at all. Ultimately, I fell asleep and my wife said she really really enjoyed it.

The best movie of its type since Young Frankenstein.
