I love the Minions so my expectations were high. It had some funny moments but it was just ok for me.

Too scary for little ones, and not supremely well done for any age group. Not the best way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Funny in parts and Scarlet Overkill is hilarious, but having a movie devoted to comic relief characters works as well as one expects. Would have been better if there was a stronger plot or a significant character arc (Gru's character arc in the original Despicable Me was one of the most endearing and memorable parts of that movie). As it stands, the minions, in The Minions, are the same before the movie starts and after it ends, and Scarlet's story has no lasting impact on anything, which makes one wonder why it was even told.

It's hard to make an animated comedy and this one works for all ages. Loved the little adult things like the moon shot clip and Beatles cameo.
