10:28 am, April 17, 2012| I’ve only made a mistake once on cunttig a film short — I won’t say what it is right now, because this is not the time — but I removed 17 minutes off a movie. ^ Alien (clearly)Good to know Prometheus has a 2hr run time. That's about the perfect time for a Ridley Scott story to play out properly.

Not sure if you know this, but the title fade-in was obviously an hogame to the original Alien trailer. Though I do think it was done much more effectively in that trailer and in this one.Honestly I wasn't real impressed with this trailer either even though everyone else seemed to be. That clunky tagline is far better suited to a poster than a trailer, though even that's not saying much. And aside from the title hogame which no one outside of film buffs is really aware of there's little in the trailer that really connects it to the Alien franchise.

this film had huge potential, but begins to fall apart in terms of creative story telling by about the first plot point (if there really were any). with such stunning visual effects and nicely done suspense building it is a shame that it was not complimented by stronger character builds and a nicely written script. it seemed as if director ridley scott was wavering between making an all out monster-horror flick like the original aliens and a more philosophical-sci-fi-adventure; then, in his abstinence for both, tried to make something in between stringing a loose storyline together which in a way went nowhere except to say "hey, this is where the 'aliens' aliens came from, yaaay." and leav

meh, nice-looking movie, but the plot and writing were terrible. i felt like i was watching a recent m. night shyamalan movie (and i don't mean that in a good way!). if you liked his recent attempts to "make you think", then you'd probably like this movie. but if you're like me and you just roll your eyes at movies that cheaply try to explain the origins of man (and beast), you probably won't like it either. and i'm neither an athiest nor a religious fanatic, so my comments have nothing to do with being 'offended' in some way by the plot - i was just plain bored.
