  i thought this was an excellent movie. the hawaiin scenes and music was wonderful and george clooney was great!

  it was a good movie, don't go if you are feeling low as it is quite depressing in parts but gc and the girls good acting, amazing hawaii landscape. good story line, do not feel it is oscar worthy but its good, not great just good, a renter for sure

  As a 28 year Kaua'i resident I certainly enjoyed the portrayal of the kama'aina family in "The Descendants". The movie, in particular, the benign ending, is sadly fiction. Grove Farm, the land company owned, and sold by the actual descendants is an aggressive corporation which is now evicting some of it's long term tenants to build modular homes from Chinese shipping containers on the site. Most of these tenants are in their 60's, 70's and 80's, and have lived in these old plantation style homes for decades. They and their spouses built Grove Farm which is carrying out the evictions before they have even submitted building and road plans to the county. If Alexander Payne wants to see t

  Lacked plot and was awkwardly horrible. I could barely sit through this movie! Don't waste your money!
