albeit different and unique, i frlt the movie was average overall...films progressed to speaking/voice because words are human, not just actions.

Terrific movie! Worth seeing if just for the admirable costumes, props, settings and vintage automobiles. But it is leaps more. Charming story, quaint unfolding of a predictable plot with no dialogue but vivid enough in places to bring tears to your eyes. Exaggerated actions and mugging speak loudly in place of words in this cinematic experience but it is deliciously full of drama, comedy, love and life in the late 1920s and early 30 s. Dog lovers (and those not sure) beware, you will fall in love with Uggie! April Dear

while i appreciated the talent and creativity ofthis movie, i do not feel it is worthy of all this cretical acclaim. it's a good movie and special for what it is...but it's not the best picture of the year.

This is a unique movie that will stick with you. Absolutely terrific in every way. The absence of dialogue was irrelevent...that's how well it was done.
